The above chart represents the projected party affiliation among Cuban-Americans in Miami-Dade and Broward county. For each wave of the poll there is a margin of error of somewhere between 2 and 3 percent. As you can see the trend has been remarkably stable.
Either the recently arrived and younger Cubans don’t have the difference of opinion that the media purports them to have or they don’t register to vote or they change their minds by the time they register to vote. My opinion is that it’s the latter.

So, how long before Joe “suddenly” realizes that lifting the restrictions will in fact, be a bad thing and then start promoting that agenda for the Dems?
There’s never an egg timer around when you need one.
Every two years there is a vote on Cuba policy! Our members of Congress are elected by a huge majority. It is obvious that Cuban-Americans (including our young generation), despite what Joe Garcia, Carlos Saladrigas, and Jorgito Mas say, are in favour of a true democratic transition in Cuba. We are not in favor of keeping sanctions just to keep them. They are a tool which we will use until the time comes to lift them (when there is political change in Cuba)!!!!
Viva Cuba y los Wajiros del norte!!!
and how many of us registered life -long democrats don’t vote democratic anymore precisely because of the party’s sharp left turn and anti-exile posture?
I have nothing against democrats who understand the intricacies of the policy. I would gladly vote for Bill Nelson and Debbie Wasserman. In fact when I lived in Miami I voted for Bob Graham. The issue is not whether Cuban-Americans are republican or democrats but if they support current American policy. The policy is quite simple…Reforms to US policy are predicated on internal political change on the island.
So the Donkey boys & gals think the Cuban-American community is flocking to their side?
Hmmmm…. I feel a song coming on.
“The Impossible Dream” from Man of LA Mancha.
The Cuban Research Institute that did this poll includes pro-Castro activists like Marifeli Perez-Stable, Lisandro Perez, Uva de Aragon, Guillermo Grenier, and former professor and convictedspy Carlos Alvarez.
Perhaps. Which even more reinforces the idea that there’s no mass defection by Cuban-Americans to the jackass party.
Maybe the Cuban Community would vote 100% Republican if they acted more conservative reflecting the traditional Cuban Values. This bunch of Blue Blood RINOs (Rep in name only) are all compromisers in my opinion. We need some real leadership not some panty laced, gay loving, tree hugging, electric car driving, Cuba style socialists running for president…….and that’s just the Repubilcans. Where are the Mambis & the Reagons when you need them?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Around Labor day Fred Thompson will announce his candidacy. He is my candidate. Keep an open mind to him and I think you’ll like his message.
I have worked with Senator Thompson in the past. He is also my candidate and understands the need for political change on the island before reforms in US policy.
