Good morning….

…and welcome to another week in the trenches.

Let’s start Monday morning with a couple of very resonant quotes from one Vladimir Lenin:

A lie told often enough becomes the truth.

and

While the State exists, there can be no freedom. When there is freedom there will be no State.

  1. I have a doubt related to the first quote because in English Lenin is said to be the author, while in Spanish it is attributed to Goëbbels. If someone would clarify me this, I would oblige. Thank you!

  2. Good Monday Val!

    Here’s another great quote …

“I believe it is an established maxim in morals that he who makes an assertion without knowing whether it is true or false is guilty of falsehood, and the accidental truth of the assertion does not justify or excuse him.” ~ A. Lincoln

I wish you well 🙂 Melek

“Repetition does not transform a lie into a truth.” ~ F.D. Roosevelt

  3. Another quest for freedom:

Over 5,000 Taiwanese-Americans rallied in front of the U.N. in New York City to demonstrate the dedicaion that the U.N. should accept Taiwan. On the same day, 300,000-500,000 rallied for the same in Taiwan. The PRC continues to veto Taiwan’s admittance, as it condemns Taiwanese independence. Taiwan plans to reapply for full U.N. membership when the world body convenes tomorrow.

We should all support Taiwan’s quest for independence from the Communist nation of China, as we too hope for the independence of our own island.

  4. “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joseph Goebbels.

“A lie told often enough becomes truth” Vladimir Lenin.

“If you are going to tell a lie, tell the BIGGEST lie possible. Most people tell small lies in their daily lives, so they are never going to believe you if you tell a small lie. But, they will assume that you could never be so bold as to tell a huge lie. They will believe that the huge lie is the truth simply because they cannot comprehend that you could be so bold to tell such a huge lie.” Adolf Hitler

  5. Lenin or Goebbels, does it really matter? It is one of the central tenets of all Communist, National Socialist and Fascist ideologies. I think it was Goebbels who said it. (Or was it Howard Dean?)

  6. fidel and now raul have been saying for decades that the US is about to invade Cuba. The following quote pretty much explains their logic.
“Naturally, the common people don’t want war, neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
    Hermann Goering
