The Singing Landlord

The one positive thing that has come from fidel castro’s illness is that it has kept him out of the regime-run airwaves, giving Cubans on the island a break from his televised sermons.
This weekend in Cuba, however, the peace was broken when Cubans were punished by an even worse torture.
Venezuelan landlord, president and recording artist, Hugo Chavez, was in Cuba to check on his investments and visit with his ailing-doing so much better than ever that they can’t show him live- fidel.
As a treat, Cubans are being treated Hugo Chavez’s Alo Presidente program being broadcast live from Cuba.
According the AP:

HAVANA (AP) — Fidel Castro called in to the Venezuelan president during a television and radio broadcast on Sunday, the first time the ailing Cuban leader has made a live media appearance since February.
The telephone call came minutes after visiting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez aired a new videotape of their weekend meeting in which he sang revolutionary hymns to Castro and called him “father of all revolutionaries.”
Castro said he was moved by Chavez’s singing and went on to praise Ernesto “Che” Guevara as a “sower of the conscience” during the program Chavez was holding in the central city of Santa Clara as a homage to Guevara.

Sources in Hialeah claim that Chavez’s singing moved many Cubans to turn off their TV sets and many others to begin looking for anything that floats in order to escape the latest weapon in the regime’s arsenal to torture the citizenry into submission.

  1. Well, I suppose money will buy you almost anything, even if the money isn’t yours. This is nothing new, obviously. Cuba was whored out to the Soviet Union for decades. Hugo “El Chulo” Chavez is simply a much more vulgar john, but when it comes to prostitutes, that’s a moot point.
