Reading is Fundamental

The 2007 Miami Book Fair International is on this week, having begun last weekend and culminating this coming weekend with the famous streetfair. If you are in South Florida and have never been to the book fair in downtown Miami, you have missed a whole heck of a lot.
Literally (no pun intended) hundreds of authors attend the fair and have book signings and lectures. Here’s the massive list of this year’s authors. Our very own Professor Carlos Eire will be here on Saturday, 2:30 pm to talk about the recently released Spanish version of Waiting for Snow in Havana.
There will be a bevy of authors on all sides of the cultural and political spectrums and plenty of panels, discussions, lectures and talks.
If you were looking for something extraordinary to do this weekend, the Miami Book Fair International is defintely it. Be there or be square.

  1. Can’t go 🙁 , but if you see Prof. Eire, pls let him know that Nieve en La Habana was even more enjoyable than Waiting for Snow. Those translators are brilliant.
