You can add a Cuban farmers group to the chorus of voices demanding that Venezuelan dictator hugo chavez pipe it down.
Independent journalist Luis Esteban Espinosa, of the Youth Without Censorship news agency, reports that members of the Cuban Farm Workers Party — an illegal group, of course — have been collecting signatures on a petition that rejects chavez’s call for a Venezuela-Cuba confederation.
María del Carmen Videau, vice president of the group, said a Venezuelan annexation of Cuba would be “a betrayal to our country, and to our forefathers.”
