A couple of days ago I posted a speech that in my imagination Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet might make to the General Assembly of the United Nations if Cuba were a democracy in one year. I wanted to write it in Spanish as well but didn’t have the time and frankly don’t have the skill to do it justice. Luckily, we have friends in this blogosphere. So for those that are interested I refer you to Ideas del Forista El Compañero where El Compañero himself has written a very faithful translation of the imaginary speech. If you like either version I urge you to email to your friends. Whether it’s Biscet, Fariñas or some other yet to emerge opponent to the regime, the day will come when someone representing a democratic Cuba will stand at that podium and deliver a speech that will contain some of the elements that my imaginary version contains.
