Lunch with Kay Abella

In about an hour Ill be sitting down to lunch with Kay Abella, author of Fighting Castro: A Love Story.
I’m sure we’ll probably be chatting about a bunch of things – including the book, the Fernandez Family and the writing process, among other things – as we chow down on our Cuban cuisine, but if you have any comments or questions you’d like to ask Kay, now’s the time. Either drop a comment below or email me your thoughts and queries.

  1. I am halfway through the book and am finding it fascinating. It is a powerful story. I can`t get over the beauty of Emy. This story should be made into a movie.
Give Miss Abella my best and my gratitude for keeping the story of Cuba Libre alive for the world.

  2. I haven’t gotten to it yet, but you might ask her how she came across the story. I read it somewhere, but I can’t find it. I’d be interested in knowing whether she encountered any resistance to an Anti Castro story from agents and or publishers. Inquiring minds want to know. The reviews at Amazon are glowing. Enjoy.
