Well, you got your wish my friends

It’s now a forgone conclusion that John McCain, the anti-Republican will win the nomination of the Republican party. Congratulations. We’re going to see in about 9 months whether or not he truly is Captain “Electability”. I have grave doubts about it. His friends in the liberal media are going to become his kryptonite.
In an election cycle that has already shown that Republicans are much less energized than the Dems, McCain will inspire voters with…
His record of cleaning up elections with campaign finance reform?
His proposal to tax American industry to stop a global warming crisis that may or may not exist and may or may not be man made?
His refusal to vote for tax cuts that put money back in the pockets of every taxpayer?
In three decades in Washington what legislation can he point to and say I fathered that?
They say we have the leaders we deserve. And tonight the GOP deserves John McCain. In November I’m afraid we’ll be deserving a Clinton/Obama ticket. Enjoy that. I’m checking out of presidential politics until 2012.

  1. Captain Amensity is more like it. I have been contact by the Broward party to work for the Republican candidate. I told them when they get a conservative they should call me. I can survive an Obama presidency until 2012.

  2. Again, let me make clear that I’m NOT AT ALL endorsing McCain, nor any other so-called GOP candidate. My favorite candidate was Giuliani and I’m sorry that Gingrich didn’t join the race. However, I respectully disagree with you, Henry. I disagree with all those conservatives threatening to stay at home on election day, so handing over America to the Dems. If I was an American citizen, I’d hold my nose and would vote the lesser of the evils just not to hand over the country to ObHillary. Just my humble opinion. Thanks God we all agree that the Castros must be finished!

  3. Get over yourselves. I absolutely LOVE how McCain is ripped as “Captain Amnesty” by a Cuban of all people. What makes Cubans coming over anymore special than Mexicans and Haitians…NOTHING. Most are coming here for economic not political reasons. If that wasn’t the case we wouldn’t be sending over anywhere between $600 million to $1 billion a year to keep Castro afloat. If we are going to be such hard-asses about immigration start with our own or shut the f*** up.

  4. I’m with Claudia. I’m also with Stefania.
theCardinal, we can both acknowledge that the lines between economic and political refugees are blurred, right? We should do whatever we can to help those that are fleeing an oppressive dictatorship. What that has to do with McCain, I really don’t know.

I agree with what Stefania said 100% ..If you are a Republican YOU MUST VOTE FOR YOUR CANDIDATE NO MATTER WHAT. Because that was the decision of the mayority of Republicans. If you dislike the person you can sit this election out until 2012 o 2016. but please stop complaining at once. Si no desean votar ese dia vayan a la playa y disfruten la vida

  6. Robert –
I was ranting about the post from Guajiro de Broward going after McCain for his stand on immigration. I agree in helping those who are fleeing an oppresive dictatorship for political reasons. I draw the line on economic reasons because unfortunately all that happens is that they turn around and help the Castro regime. My stand is simple – we need to be consistent.
If we are for the embargo then slam the door shut on the remittances and those that want to send them. If not we might as well open up the doors. Castro can easily control the pennies going into Cuba from individuals but would not be able to contain a flood of investors. I don’t care either way…let’s just be consistent.

You might as well stay out of it until 2024 because if you stay home in November you’re gonna give the country 8 years of Clinton and then 8 years of Obama. –s

Please walk out now….that money you are still spending from your own pockets ….GIVE IT TO THE POOR , VETERANS OR THE HOMELESS…

  9. JSB,
I disagree. It only took 4 years of Carter for America to come to its senses. It only took two years of Clinton for America to come to its senses and turn congress over to the Republicans. I say we start focusing on the 2008 and 2010 congressional races.

  11. Conservative GOP and Independents (like myself, an Independent — for the first time in a dozen years, I did not register as a republican) will not vote for him, and the Independents (who support Obama) and “conservative” Democrats (who support Hillary), whom helped him pick up primary wins — will leave him like frost in a desert.
Of the four candidates for President — Hillary, Obama, McCain, and Paul — if any of them are elected President, the USA is finished. If the vote comes down to either of the Democrats still n it and McCain, the USA is done either way, and I will find a third party candidate to vote for. That way, my conscience can remain clean, and stay true to the values I hold so dearly to.
If this is the time for the USA to go down, I want the world, and, more importaqntly, God Himself, to know that I voted my conscience, and did not veer away or compromise my beliefs, morals, and values, and voted for a candidate that — though he may not have a hope in you-know-where of winning — also held to the same path.
God Help, and God Bless the USA…
