Follow up to Eliécer Ávila Cicilia

I just heard a report from a family friend with relatives in Camaguey. University students have been and continue to be detained at an increased level of frequency over the past week.
One specific member of that family is a university student with long hair. He was warned to stay home from school today because they would probably arrest him if he was seen on the street with his long hair. Just like things were in the 60’s.
The government is obviously scared to death about student movements given what they were able to accomplish in Venezuela and the recent global press coverage of Eliecer.

  3. Radio Bemba Via Cuba, said this afternoon that Eliecer Avila will be appearing on Mesa redonda on national Cuban TV, to explain what he meant by,
    “A worker has to work 3 shifts for a week in order to buy a toothbrush”
    Why do farmers get pay in worthless pesos which are worth 25 times less than foreign money and yet have to buy supplies with hard currency?”
    “why can I go to Bolivia to see where my hero Che Guevara fell”
    “why can I earn enough to buy new clothes ?'”
    Word from El Bejuco has it that Eliecer will be appearing on national TV to explain all of that as soon as his face heals, as he had an accident going down the stairs at Villa Marista and broke his nose , cheeks and lips, and also is recovering from an adverse reaction to a medication he was administered voluntarily for the Revolution.

  4. This is all nonsense….As it is shown in the video, Eliecer Avila and the other boys are in perfect health and living their lives as university students as usual…

    Ok, Monica, let me tell you that it is just outrageous and so not true…the climate in Cuba is completely normal and it is soooooooooo outrageous to read these things posted in Internet!!!!!!
    Cuban young people are IN FAVOR OF THE REVOLUTION AND WITH FIDEL AND REAUL…there is no questioning in that as it can be seen in the interview with Eliecer and fellow students…they were asking for changes, YES, but they were speaking about improvement and not about something else as it has been implied everywhere….
    The Cuban REvolution will get stronger cause this young people strongly believe in the process and they will make things better but we will always be Socialists and Revolutionary….never doubt it…
