  1. Marc, Not sure I understand this poll. Why aren’t McCain and Obama included on this poll, and what do you mean by “more power”? I think fidel will still have significant power, unfortunately, over the Cuban people, even though he has officially “resigned.” I think raul will continue the nefarious traditions of his brother, tragically, and Clinton, if she’s not president, will still be NY senator. 2. Marc,
I have a crazy theory on this … I think that fidel has been out of the picture for quite a while now … they have been buying time until one of castro’s doubles would look just like the real “ailing” castro on the road to recovery for the last photo op … and at the same time carry out a smooth transition of “power” from fidel to raul … for obvious reasons (to those of us who understand the reality of Cubans),there was no mass exodus, coup d’etat, or any type of revolt by Cubans, who have no way of arming themselves! IMO, the “arrangement” with Spain to free dissidents these past few days and forced them into exile is a good indication of the regime tighting some loose ends before fidel’s resignation.
Things remain the same … oppression prevails … basic human rights are non-existent … apartheid is practiced … most of the world still sees the revolution and castro through “idealistic” & “romantic” eyes … and soon … we’ll learn of castro’s “timely” death … and legacy!

  3. Marc –
I voted in this poll with the idea that 2009 sera el ano FINAL. My truthful answer is “NONE OF THE ABOVE.” Raul Castro = Comemierdo el Segundo (o comemierdo el emborrachado.) En verdad, the most powerful person in CUBA by this time next year will probably be some Junior Officer in the Cuban Military that nobody in the US has ever heard of.
