I’ve mentioned before, I am a big shortwave radio fan. By most accounts I have heard, they make it seem like troops are lined up at the border just waiting orders. Radio Exterior de Espana has reported a lot on it, as has the BBC, and for the most part has been fair, saying even though Colombia went over the border, the rebels are taking advantage of the proximity of borders to launch attacks. Radio Habana Cuba and Radio Rebelde make it seems like the US is calling the shots to extend it’s empire, no surprise there. Chinese radio has not been as biased as you would think. Croatian radio and most of the European bloc that was once communist seems to be siding with the Colombians, saying whatever a country needs to do to wipe out commie rebels is understandable. Radio Marti is like listening to Radio Mambi, just with different hosts, with more of a slant to Miami/ Cuba news, but they have reported much on the Chavez/ Castro connection to the rebels, which has been touched on, but not as much elsewhere.
Chavez is dead set on war. I am not sure that Correa personally wants it as bad , but is seeking it at the prompting of Chavez. Now hugito is threatening to nationalize Colombian companies in Venezcuador and Correa is warning that if Colombian planes even in the act of “fumigating” cross their airspace they will consider that an act of aggression so it is only matter of time before Ecuador creates a scenario. So the question is why the silence of the UN? Where is the OAS in telling hugito to “shut up”? Yesterday it was ironic that FARC targeted the Colombian oil pipeline. Anyone who doesn’t think that hugito isn’t leading the FARC in their latest actions is a fool. It looks more and more like the OAS and others want to watch and see Colombia go down. But it is also prophetic that hugito called Colombia Latin America’s Israel as Israel can whip anyone in the mideast so I believe Colombia will whip up on Venezcuador. The breakout of war is just a matter of time.
Just let them get in on! It’s about time the U.S. has a stronger presence in South America. We Americans, have had our heads up our asses chasing down the islamic terrorists, eventhough we have a bigger threat right in our back yard. I’m all for assonating dictators…Give me a rifle and training, I’ll be first on line. It’s about time to see the Chavistas along with thier Cuban spys start running for the hills…This time there will be no jail time…Maybe Chavez will utter his favorite mascots words…”Don’t shoot I’m worth to you more alive than dead” haha scumbags.
Raul Castro will pledge 75k troops at the ready. Many cuban soldiers will die in vain. If Chavez starts a war Venezuelan people will cripple the economy . A fallen arms general strike would be called inmediately . chavez will loose big . it will be the end of his regime
Another reason to hate the French as if there were not enough. They essentially communicated to the FARC that if they released Betancourt perhaps they would no loner be considered terrorists by some. So France feels that as long as a crime is not against them it is not a crime. I hope the next time France gets themselves in a pickle we don’t bail them out.
Related: How many French men does it take to defend Paris? Nobody knows as its never been tried.

Why did the French plant trees in the Champs d’Elysses?
So the Germans wouldnt hav eto march in the sun…
A montar bicicleta, caballero.
It is clear that Venezuela, through its now proven support of the FARC, has become a state sponsor of terrorism and as such, the US should start to consider sanctions agaisnt it, like it does with Cuba and Iran. Here we go, $6.00 a gallon gasoline.
make it
$ 8.oo gusano
Well, if $8 a gallon is such a painful thing, perhaps maybe we should, you know, DRILL FOR OUR OWN FUCKING OIL. The US has not built a new oil refinery since 1975. We cant drill off of the Florida coast or in the Gulf because lobbying power of the econazis.
Dont wanna pay 8 bucks a gallon for gas? Call your congressmen and tell them its about time we stop depending on foreign oil production and start drilling for our own oil on our own soil.
Drill Alaska. The caribou will manage. Just like the spotted owl found it could nest in the back of a K-Mart sign. The eco-commies are killing us, and the economic weakening of America is their real goal with the environment being something to just hang their collective (so to speak) hat on.
But there is drilling the Gulf off Louisiana. Is this a Florida thing that you can’t drill in the Gulf?
All that said, the one bright side to gas going up is that folks will stop driving so crazy. Many of the same people I see complaining about $3.50 gas break the speed limit before they’re even out of their driveway, and drive in general as if they’re being paid by the incident to cheat death.
Zhangligun, out here in LA most people speed when they can because the rest of the time we are just sitting in gridlock. Until the politicians build new roads and public transportation that works, (not more buses thank you) I will continue to speed, no matter the price of gas.
Nicaragua is folloiwng suit with its headmaster and has broken relations with Colombia. Chavez is really trying his best to create a war.
Oye, anyone give much credence to the fact that Chavez might be using this to declare martial law in Venezuela? Anyone with friends in Venezuela knows that his popularity there has fallen to about 20%. Since he couldn’t get his communist constitution approved in Decemeber via democratic means, this might be his way of doing it backhanded.
I am more afraid for what this means for the people of Venezuela than for Colombians. Not intended as a putdown of Colombians, but because Venezuelans may now be facing the reality of truly LIVING the cuban situation themselves.
If you are a user of bottled water, you’re already paying $8 a gallon for that. But try running your car on it.
A subtle shut up for hugo:
