The Under-23 Cuban national soccer team is in Tampa today to play the US team for a chance to possibly qualify for the 2008 Olympics.
Does anyone know what the over/under is on defections?

It depends on how many are on the team.
Most teams travel with about 18 players. 11 starters and 5-7 reserves. Staff, you got a coach, an assistant coach, a goalie coach, a physical trainer (fitness), an athletic trainer (for on field injuries), sometimes the same person does two or three of those tasks. You need a team doctor too. We travel with about 25, sometimes more, but usually less then 30.
I’m thinking the number is 2…
2? Then I take over. But I am sure their security is VERY tight.
That’s why my over/under is 2 and not 25…
Val,
My son told me the other day that our soccer team in Charleston, S.C.,The Charleston Battery, signed Cuban forward Lester More for the 2008 USL First Division season. More, defected from the Cuban National Team last July during the 2007 Gold Cup. He is the all-time leading goalscorer for Cuba. Lester had been part of the Cuban National Team since he was 16 yrs. old.
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! 🙂 Melek
