Alice “Castro Apologist” Walker Supports Obama

Surprised? You have to love Alice. The same dame who touts Castro as the moral equivalent of Ghandi and Jesus, is ripping her fellow feminists for choosing Hillary over Obama. She touts Obama as a modern day Martin Luther King and Nelson Madella. Oh, so I guess that Obama served time in prison for his beliefs and was nailed with a fire hose?
She says:

“If Obama were in any sense mediocre, he would be forgotten by now. He is, in fact, a remarkable human being, not perfect but humanly stunning, like King was and like Mandela is. He is the change America has been trying desperately and for centuries to hide, ignore, kill. The change it must have if we are to convince the rest of the world that we care about people other than our (white) selves.”

But she has selfish reasons too. The marxist leftist that she is says it all here:

“I want a grown-up attitude to Cuba, for instance, a country and people I love. I want an end to the war immediately, and I want the soldiers to be encouraged to destroy their weapons and drive themselves out of Iraq. I want the Israeli government to be made accountable for its behaviour to the Palestinians, and I want the people of the US to cease acting as if they don’t understand what is going on. But most of all I want someone with the confidence to talk to anyone, “enemy” or “friend”, and this Obama has shown he can do.”

For Alice and her ilk, the enemy is America, Israel, the Jews, and the white Capitalists. I guess she is stuck in the past just like the honorable Rev. Wright too. Makes you wonder why the extreme left supports Obama….perhaps…cause he’s one of them? Well if you read his questionnaire responses you’d have to say, yep, he’s as left as they come:
Per his answers to a questionnaire:
a. supports instituting graduated income tax that would shift an increasing burden on corporations and individuals most able to pay
b. does not support vouchers
c. supports public financing of elections
d. believes in restructuring pay scale of employees based on “comparable worth”
e. supports public employees’ right to strike
f. supports single payer health plans / universal health care
g. supports government funding of abortion on demand
h. mandatory insurance coverage of abortions
i. opposes parental consent/notification for minors seeking abortions
j. opposes electronic eavesdropping
k. opposes capital punishment
l. opposes trying juveniles as adults under all circumstances
m. opposes all mandatory sentencing
n. supports ban on manufacture, sale and possession of handguns, weapons,
o. supports obtaining additional billions of dollars from wealthier Americans’ by eliminating the social security tax cap of $ 97K
p. supports state plans to give driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.
Of course, under single-payer health care, a government system would replace private health insurance. But he dodges this issue as much as he dodges the question is he is a “liberal.” Besides his earlier answers, we now know from his recent CNBC interview that he wants tax rates to go back up to 39.5% (i.e. raise taxes in a recession) and he wants capital gains and dividends to be taxed as regular income.
In Obama’s privileged world, any household making over $ 70K is rich and is part of the club known as the “nation’s wealthiest Americans.” It’s nice to know that this Harvard educated elitist thinks I’m rich. Perhaps he can send me a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid to replace my aging 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser. What a putz this guy is!

  1. Since when are opposition to eavesdropping and capital punishment and support for reproductive rights, Left issues? A number of Republicans oppose expansion of the government’s right to spy on its citizens, oppose the unfair and ineffective use of the death penalty and the right of a woman to decide on whether to carry a pregnancy to term without having to check-in with the state. I won’t even go into your misleading description of Obama’s gun control stance. I don’t like Walker and her duplicitous arguments reagrding Cuba but she’s not running for president.

  2. his gun position is straight out of the questionnaire he filled out for a leftist organization in Illinois which supported him for the Illinois Senate.
He supports abortion on demand including for minors. This is not a conservative position. Even moderates like Rudy opposed abortion on demand and opposed unfettered abortions by minors without parental consent and he opposed public financing of abortions unlike Obama.
Name one conservative who supports abortion on demand and public financing of abortion, who also opposed parental consent for minors under all circumstances.
Isn’t it absurd for example that a minor needs parental consent to get a tattoo which I’m sure no one has a problem with, but the left raises all hell if there’s anything to prevent a minor from getting an abortion on demand?
eavesdropping…Obama opposes it under all circumstances and this was his position prior to 9-11; this is done all the time with warrants. He makes no equivocation. This isn’t “spying” on citizens; it’s a lawful tool for law enforcement upon having probable cause of criminal activity.
As for recession — Obama says we’re in a recession. If you accept that premise, it is idiotic to raise taxes. Heck, JFK showed that by cutting taxes during a recession, helps get you out of the recession. Simple macro economics 101.

  3. I understand. So Obama says we’re in a recession? That’s an outright falsehood because we haven’t even had ONE quarter with negative growth and TWO are required before a recession is official. When people start throwing the “R” word around it becomes a self fulfilling prophesy.

  4. Ludicrous as it obviously is, people like Alice Walker have the incredible arrogance to believe they know what’s best for Cuba better than Cubans themselves (especially those horrible exiles in South Florida). I don’t have enough respect for an Alice Walker to spare the saliva it would take to spit in her face.

  5. Looks like the Dow was up 400 points today.
Interesting that the Dems would prefer the economy to tank for their own self interest than the economy to do well notwithstanding who is in power.
