An editorial in Granma today makes it clear to those who persist in seeing Raul as a born again Gorbachev- who by the way never intended to dismantle the Russian system, just reform it- that the Communist Party will not tolerate “the dreams of adversaries, internal mercenaries and fifth columnists.” Guess one man’s freedom is another man’s “subversion.” Can they really believe this tripe themselves? Never mind, the answer is obvious. They don’t, but it is a useful fiction.
