So we’ve been preparing for CubaNostalgia and one of the things we wanted to do was a banner honoring and reminding people about Dr. Biscet. One of our sponsors for the show, Abe Cardenas, offered a banner stand, the kind you see at trade shows. But we didn’t have a banner to put in it. I have some friends in the graphic design industry but on such short notice, I didn’t want to ask for favors. So it was going to be an opportunity lost. Then I got this email:

Now I’m not a big believer in fate, I think for the most part we make our futures. But Gyula dropped out of the sky and into our lap. He has designed a beautiful banner that we’ll be unveiling at CubaNostalgia on Friday. In the meantime take a look at this piece he designed in memory of Cachao:
