It’s no secret that the companies that sell travel to Cuba are run by unapologetic fidelistas like Francisco Aruca. It’s also no secret that these companies often skirt if not violate the laws of the United States and the state of Florida during the course of their operations.
State Representative David Rivera has sponsored a bill (HB 671/SB 1310) which would more closely regulate these unscrupulous businesses. The bill passed the House 109-6 and the Senate 36-2. It now awaits Governor Crist’s signature.
