Professor Tony de la Cova Vindicated!

In early 1959 Dr Rafael Diaz-Balart (Mario and Lincoln’s viejo) tried warning the CIA and U.S. State Dept. that Fidel Castro was rabidly anti-American and a dangerous totalitarian megalomaniac with Communist ties. Their fervent support for his regime, stressed Dr Diaz-Balart, was idiotic and would come back to bite them on the ass.

The U.S. thanked Dr Rafael Diaz-Balart by threatening to deport him. New York officials actually jailed Dr Diaz-Balart and several of his compatriots from the anti-Castro group La Rosa Blanca overnight in New York city in a cell with common criminals.

In the late summer of 1962 Cuban youths from the Directorio and other groups risked their lives obtaining proof that the Soviets were shipping missiles to Cuba. For months they turned all this information over to U.S. authorites.

“Nothing but refugee rumors!” snorted JFK’s National Security Adviser, Mc George Bundy, on America’s biggest Sunday morning news show, Issues and Answers. “Nothing in Cuba presents a threat to the U.S.” he continued, barely masking his scorn. The date was Oct. 14th 1962. Exactly 24 hours later Bundy was studying U-2 photos of those “refugee rumors” aimed at his very house.

Since 1993 professor Tony de la Cova has been warning of an agent for Castro’s Stalinist regime named Marifeli Perez-Stable, in the employ of both a “prestigious” Florida University and a “prestigious” Florida newspaper. For his pains, Professor de la Cova has been threatened with lawsuits and denounced as a “terrorist.”

Tonight on Miami’s talk/news program A Mano Limpia, Lt. Col. Christopher Simmons, a US Army counterintelligence officer (formerly with the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency), revealed (to those unfamiliar with Dr de la Cova’s work) that Marifeli Perez-Stable has been under watch for years by his agency because she is an agent for Castro’s Stalinist regime.

UPDATE (Henry):

Here’s video of Simmons on local television. At the the end of this clip (about the 10:20 mark) Simmons mentions Dr. Perez-Stable by name. In the second clip he discusses Perez-Mendez (the Cuban defector who denounced Perez-Stable back in the early 80s).

  1. We are in damage control mode at the Center for Cubanologist Studies at FIU. This is the third Castro spy discovered at FIU, after Carlos Alvarez and Elsa Prieto. I hope the Miami Herald takes the heat for this instead of FIU.

  2. I haven’t been able to sleep all night since being so humiliated. I am calling John de Leon first thing in the morning to file a defamation lawsuit against everybody, including Humberto Fontova. I am also calling my friend Carlos Alberto Montaner, who has appeared on numerous TV programs with me and is my comrade on the Board of Contributors of the Miami Herald. Montaner has repeatedly vouched that I am now anti-Castro and not a spy! Who are you going to believe, this Simmons or Montaner?

  3. What surprises me is that other trolls like Lisandro Peo, that Smith character, a certain horse faced beauty from the Miami Herald and of course the infamous Cassandra Levinson [see Reinaldo Arenas’s “the Doorman”] haven’t been mentioned.

This just goes to show you how in cahoots the mainstream media is with the Cuban regime. Because it is people like Marifeli who are often cited in mainstream papers and solicited for editorials. So, basically, when the American people read an opinion on Cuba, they are reading the opinion of an academian who is repeating the official lines of the Cuban regime. Is there any question as to why Americans are so confused when it comes to Cuba?

  4. Oy vey! What a meshuganah this Simmons. I hope that he does not mention me on his next program. I have enough problems already.

  5. Well, I think I speak for us all when I see – we all knew this woman was working directly for the regime.

That said, I feel it is important – especially since I’ve seen Perez-Stable comment here on Babalu once-in-a-while – to state in no uncertain terms that, should any negative repercussions be suffered by my, or anyone else in the Babalu group’s, families on the island – it will be dealt with Miss Perez-Stable. I don’t want to be tested on this. I will defend my family to the last drop of blood and I have absolutely no problem with making that fact known here. The consequences would be felt and they would be carried out with an iron fist, make no mistake. If I were here, I’d be hoping against hope right now – that the regime takes no action against anyone with any relation to anyone on this platform (Babalu).

  6. Gee, I wonder what the Miami Herald brass will say about this? Assuming they actually address the matter (which might get similar treatment to Oscar Corral’s prostitution arrest), the Herald will probably say something quite similar, in principle, to what McGeorge Bundy said about the missile evidence. I can just hear it now: “Witch hunt! McCarthyism! Exile hysteria!” Too bad Ana Menendez (sic) is not around to chime in. I fully expect she’d rally to the occasion, but the Herald is hardly lacking in suitable substitutes.

  7. One more outed, an unknown number left to go! At the very least, all Cuban American FIU alumni should write letters to the school. Que se vaya(n) pal carajo!

  8. At the Miami Herald we do not investigate our own people. Although an expose of Professor Marifeli Perez-Stable would prompt a further drop in our stock fortunes, which have almost bottomed out. Although the newspaper reported my arrest last year for soliciting teenage prostitution and quoted me saying that I was innocent, they kindly omitted mention when I pleaded guilty to the charge in court.

  9. Anatasio,

Marifeli Perez-Stable has never commented at Babalu. Her alter-ego Marifea Perez-Unstable has, along with a cast of characters of other alter-egos of the fidelista academics.

  10. Mr. Henry Gomez: Alter ego, am I? You probably have never read any of my award-winning books and therefore don’t know that I am the world’s greatest Cuban economist. Why, I was a nobody before 1978, when I was quoted in the New York Times saying that Fidel Castro “is a political genius, perhaps the only true genius among the world’s leaders today.” Just look at me now!

  11. This calls for a protest demonstration by the Code Pinko ladies against Oscar Haza while he is having breakfast at Sergio’s on Coral Way. We will plaster his new black Mercedes-Benz S-Class with our Code Pinko stickers and banners. Chris Simmons is a high-ranking officer of the imperialist war machine intent on discrediting progressive comrades like Marifeli Perez-Stable. We will boycott his upcoming movie about Ana Margarita Martinez.

  12. Now can someone clear this up? was Maria Fea Perez-Unstable somewhat of a White House staffer during the Clinton admin? Urgent someone clear that up!!!
