Surprise, surprise – empty suit is still empty

There is a very interesting editorial today in the New York Daily News regarding the rocky first few weeks of Obama’s presidency. Michael Goodwin seems to think it is beyond just having a bad day, and it seems there are quite a few other folks, including Democrats, that are starting to worry about the competency of this administration.

Not long ago, after a string of especially bad days for the Obama administration, a veteran Democratic pol approached me with a pained look on his face and asked, “Do you think they know what they’re doing?”

The question caught me off guard because the man is a well-known Obama supporter. As we talked, I quickly realized his asking suggested his own considerable doubts.

Yes, it’s early, but an eerily familiar feeling is spreading across party lines and seeping into the national conversation. It’s a nagging doubt about the competency of the White House.

I guess the empty suit did not miraculously fill itself on January 20th.

  1. America needs to ask itself a question…is this the man, and the administration they would have wanted in place on September 11, 2001?

There are a lot of things the Bush administration did that I disagree with, but I thank God every day that he was our President on 9/11, and I will always believe that he was the right man for the time.

  2. The only consolation we have every time Obama’s administration fucks up is saying “I told you so” to all the Idiots and Kool-Aid drinkers who put us in this position.

  3. As usual the mainstream media screwed us up. Sometimes I wonder if all of these screw ups are not part of some malicious, well-thought out plan [an organized Fifth Column] instead of just stupidity. I mean, what are the chances of always getting it wrong time and time again? If its just chance and stupidity, shouldn’t they get it right on occasion? Instead, they consistently side with the wrong people. They sided with fidel even before he became dictator-for-life [in fact, they created him], they sided with the Ayatollah Khomeini {Time Magazine named him “Man of the Year], they sided with that lunatic Aristide of Haiti who went on to become just as bad as Papa Doc, they sided with the Sandanistas, now they are siding against the valiant President of Columbia. And Obama is a creation of the mainstream media. They practically made him walk-on-water and the sheeple naturally were mislead and voted him president.

We are getting what is to be expected. How can a former junior state senator go on to become President and be expected to run not just any country, but the most powerful country in the world? And I don’t count his stint as senator for Illinois, because that was just a stepping stone to the presidency. He was so busy campaigning for President during his two years in the senate that it can’t be counted as experience. We’re getting what we had coming to us.

  4. Rayarena; solid observation. The MSM gets it wrong consistantly because they are dominated by the Liberal/Left and they don’t have a friggin clue how to effectively defend this country – if they really want to do it. The Liberal/Left mentality also gets it wrong on just about every domestic issue as well, at least if you believe in morality and freedom from government enslavement.

The scary part is that they exist in great numbers within the US Government bureaucracy and work aggressively to screw up this country on a daily basis. Just look at all the treasonous acts by members of the government during the Bush Administration, constantly leaking info to the liberal press or writing books to undermine his efforts to protect us. I ‘live’ in the belly of the beast and I can tell you that it is a very scary situation to see how infiltrated we are with a philosophy that defends our enemies, creates moral equivalencies, downplays threats, and basically disarms us to a very debilitating degree. They are the product of our liberal/left dominated universities, combined with a risk-averse, arrogant attitude accumulated over years of un-fettered freedom. Given what’s happening, how can we excuse all those senior military officers who stood next to Obama on the campaign trail saying he was exactly what this country needed. I’m telling you, this is sad and maddening. God Help Us!

  5. One small correction to Rayarena: Time’s “Man of the Year” designation does not necessarily imply a positive endorsement of that person or thing. It’s supposed to reflect the person who affected the world the most-for better or worse-during the past year. Ike, FDR, and Reagan were all “Men of the Year” as well as Hitler and Stalin.

  6. Mambi/Rayarena,

    You both made the point.

Unfortunately I feel that the American people are going to pay a price for dropping common sense and let the MSM, the Hollywood idiots and the many lefties in academia influenced their values and decisions.

Mambi, you feel worse about what’s going on now (and I totally sympathize with you) because you have access to information that regular citizens like Rayarena and I don’t, and you’re fully aware the treat we’re facing (I can only imagine).

I fully agree with your comment regarding some high ranking military officers supporting Obama (as I happen to know one personally) and cannot believe how stupid and naïve they can be in following the “Messiah’s bullshit.

I guess the American people forgot what they went through the Carter years and Obama is fulfilling my greatest fears that he’ll even be much worse than the peanut farmer.

Maybe this is meant to be that the American people deserve to learn a very painful lesson for dropping their values and following the anti-American liberals, time will tell.

  7. A comment about what Rayarena and Mambi said: It may not be a global conspiracy but it’s not by coincidence either, that the MSM are consistently on the wrong side. These people are Leftist ideologues. In their tiny minds, everything they do is “for the Cause”, that is,for their ideology, which intends to destroy America and its “evil” capitalist system. Of course, they forget they feed off that evil system, but like the scorpion in the story that stings the frog who saves his life after promising not to, “it’s their nature.”

  8. Peshkatari, you are correct that Time “Man of the Year” doesn’t necessarily imply a positive endorsement, but since the mainstream media did turn the Shah of Iran [who was a US ally] into a bogyman [we were force-fed a steady brew of horror stories out of Tehran depicting the Shah worst than the devil] as they do all Friends of the USA [who aren’t leftist], the unavoidable conclusion was that their designation of Khomeini [the man who rose to power right after the Shah] was that it was a positive thing.

  9. Rayarenea, I’m with you.
Freedom for Cuba, as for high ranking military officers voting for Obama, I don’t get it, either. But let’s show that video CINC (Commander in Chief) again. That was great. As for the rest of the voters who picked thie guy, TYS! – pronounced “tis, and obviously means told you so!
