I believe that one of the reasons the “Cold Case” show on CBS is so popular is because the idea of finding long-delayed justice appeals to most good people. In each episode we find out about a case that is long forgotten by the media and police. And there’s always friends and family of the victim who never forget about him/her.

Well there’s a cold case in New Jersey that isn’t cold because the trail of clues went dead. The victim’s name is Werner Foerster and he was a Jersey State Trooper. He was gunned down by one Joanne Chesimard who goes now by the name of Assata Shakur. She was convicted of the crime but escaped prison and went to Cuba where she’s been a guest of the “oh so reasonable” fidel and raul castro.
Well New Jersey’s attorney general wants President Obama to press the regime on the return of this vile witch. I see this as only ONE of the necessary steps that the regime needs to take in order for the U.S. to further liberalize its policies towards Cuba. Of course with fidel calling the shots again, this and other such measures are much less likely. So the cold case will stay cold a while longer but we fans of eventual justice won’t forget.
