Today’s must read

In a scathing Op-Ed in the Telegraph, author Gerald Warner assesses the sudden mortality of the once god-like Barack Obama. Sold to the American people and the world as the second coming of the Messiah, it turns out that The One is really just good ‘ole Barry, that leftist kid with the crazy ideas that lives in his own little imaginary world.

Are the people rejecting their saviour? Barack Obama’s approval rating has slipped to below that of George “Dubya” Bush at the same stage in his presidency and this is causing some concern among right-thinking (by which, of course, I mean left-thinking) people. This is by no means the death of the dream that began in January – approval ratings slide up and down erratically – but it is at least an early intimation of mortality.

For this is no ordinary presidency, this is the reign on earth of The One: his approval rating was intended to break the mould by rising inexorably to 100 per cent and beyond. The problem about a mega-hype like the Obama scam is that when it goes pear-shaped it will crash and burn like nothing we have seen since that other hot-air powered marvel, the Hindenburg. Here we are, six months into the great adventure and already our hero is in deep doo-doo.

Meanwhile, in the wider world, American foreign policy is beginning very satisfactorily to fill the vacuum left by the Soviet Union. The Obama administration has set itself the objective of establishing Marxist regimes in the remaining democratic states of Latin America. Fidel has had his thunder stolen by Barack. The current project, being enthusiastically pursued by the White House, is to reinstate the Marxist fruitcake Manuel Zelaya, client of Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez, as president of Honduras.

Zelaya’s return is being demanded by Chavez, Nicaraguan Sandinista president Daniel Ortega and Evo Morales, president of Bolivia. These hoods are the Latin American chapter of the Axis of Evil, but Washington loves them. When the Honduran democrats stood unexpectedly firm against Zelaya’s return, Chavez telephoned the State Department to ask for help. Correct me if I am wrong, but I somehow do not think that when Fidel Castro was having problems subverting a Latin American democracy his first instinct was to ring up Condie Rice and cry on her shoulder.

This is definitely today’s must read editorial and you can find it HERE.

  1. Warner is just, you know…racist. Now move along. Nothing to see, nothing to worry about. Let’s talk about Michelle’s new hairdo.

  2. I have written this before, but I am putting it here again.
Using Buckley’s formulation of how are we doing compared to everyone else, I rate politicians according to how they believe in these four criteria:

    1. America is the greatest country in the world.
    2. Israel is the best country in the Middle East
    3. Capitalism is the best economic system created by mankind.
    4. Communism never has worked and never will anywhere.

Rating George W. Bush, He gets an A on the first, second and fourth. On the third I guess I have to take off points because he relied on Govt. too often for cures. So on the whole he gets a B plus or A minus based on my four criteria.

Now let’s rate Obama. As he goes around the world apologizing for this country and finding nothing to compliment us about, I’ll rate him an F on the first.
As he blames Israel for all faults of the world and for the reason we have no peace or that we have so many hating us, it is easy for me to rate him an F here.
    Three? F all the way.
And four? Easy F. His allies are always the Chavez’s and Castros over those seeking freedom.
So, let’s see, A minus for Bush and F for Obama.

Who can make up any criteria to get Obama a higher vote?
As far as I can see, they would have to be anti American and pro communist or pro Islamist criteria.

  3. Here’s the sad part Honey,

    the American LEFTIST criteria:

    1. America is an Imperialist empire that should collapse.
    2. Israel is an apartheid military outpost for Zionist world domination.
    3. Capitalism is an evil soul-less cancer, that should be stamped out through policy or terror.
    4. “Workers of the World Unite”!

    = The Chosen One A+++

  4. Mr. Mojito,
You make my point exactly. But what liberal would state it this way? Yet my liberal friends support him.

  5. Mine do too. I try to make them see what he is doing and they always say : ” No , thats not true , he would never believe in anything like that!!!” Meanwhile they still beleive Cuba has free healthcare. They will find out the truth for themselves but it is going to be too late when they do. They’ll have no one to blame but themselves.
