Gracias Juanes!!!!

Just a quick note to thank Colombian Freedom Singer Juanes for a great concert in La Plaza de la Revolucion in Havana that brought liberty and freedom to the people of Cuba!

Awesome. Just awesome.

Who would have thought it, huh? Fifty years of brutal oppression brought down by a few tunes and strumming guitars.

All the jail cells have been unlocked and all prisoners of conscience have been freed! All human rights have been restored and the Cuban people can now freely express themselves and live like normal, free human beings!!! There’s now food one every Cuban table and even toilet paper in every Cuban bathroom!!!!

By all means, the Concierto por la Paz was a HUGE success. HUGE!

Gracias Juanes! You fucking communist son of a bitch.

  1. I went to the “Juanes in La Plaza de la Revolucion in Havana Concert” and all I got was this T-shirt. Wha— Huh? No T-shirt?

  2. I couldn’t agree more with you Val. This type of concert was perfect last year – Columbia/Venezuela border – as it will be for next year’s concert site – USA/Mexico border. This was not the type of concert that Cuba needed. As I wrote on Juanes’s Twitter page last night , Cubans will wake up today with no food, no peace, no freedom, political prisoners still jailed, etc. I also told him that the political prisoners that he failed to mention are in jail for the SAME thing he did yesterday – ask for freedom and peace !!

WTF was the whole thing about him mentioning the two Columbians who were sequestered ?? He dedicated that song to all the people held against their will I believe and even some of the lyrics within the song were directed to the people sequestered in Columbia. If you are not going to mention the Cubans held in Cuba, don’t fucking mention anybody.

He also said that he didn’t have time to do the song he had written a few days before the concert – Yo Soy Cubano – because of lack of time and he wanted to give other people their own time to sing. That is bullshit because if he had prioritized his songs he would have sang it.

Also, can anyone confirm this, I heard that Olga Tanon said while in Cuba that the school she had visited was beautiful and great. They don’t have anything like that in Puerto Rico. If it is true, what a dumb fuck. She is putting down her own country and at the same time kiss communist ass.

As mentioned, fuck Juanes and his concert !!

BREAKING NEWS: Everything is staus quo in Cuba

  3. Freedom she visited a school that is dedicated to music and she said that they did not have anything like that in Puerto Rico, that she had not had the advantage of having such a school when she was growing up…how pathetic. Also she said in an interview with a Mexican newspaper that she was going to do a tribute to Celia Cruz by doing a medley of her hits but did no such thing….could it be censorship???? Same thing with Juanes’ song? I’m so glad to see all the political prisoners that have been freed this morning because of the concert and how they all flew away in Val’s unicorn to a Cuba filled with freedom and enough food for everyone….I wonder what was in my coffee this morning?!

  4. Let’s face it, Juanes made this very calculated move with a particular audience in mind. I don’t believe that audience was the people in Cuba (who have no money to buy capitalist goods like his music), and it sure as hell wasn’t Cuban exiles. It was the fashionably leftist, liberal, “progressive” crowd, who are all quite willing to take him at his word, no matter how hollow or full of shit. Remember, being a hypocrite is OK, as long as it’s PC, and playing ball with Castro, Inc. and sticking it to “those people” in South Florida is eminently PC. In other words, same shit, different day.

  5. No, Val, Juanes is not communist. He’s far too rich for that, and he knows better. There’s a reason why he lives in Miami and not in Colombia. What he is is fashionably and conveniently leftist, and it doesn’t even matter if he believes in the stuff or not, though I expect he does. The point is he knows how the game is played in the entertainment business in general and “Latin” America in particular. He knows what sort of image is required and what sort of image would hurt him. If nothing else, it’s good marketing, from a purely bottom-line business perspective.

  6. I don’t think he’s got enough noodle to subscribe to any ideology — that requires some thinking. He’s just a leftist opportunist and nothing more. Lo que importa es el ca$$h.

  7. Juanes,Bose and the other privilaged individuals participating in this farce are ” el nuevo hombre”. Funny how most live outside Cuba. Yes you will find them in politics also in our country disguised as peace loving diialogeros …
