I’m dreaming of a free Cuba
Where there is true democracy
Where food is plenty
and shelves aren’t empty
and people earn and spend
one currency.

I’m dreaming of a new Cuba
Where all the journalists are free.
Where palm trees rustle
and people bustle
to thrive in a good economy.

I’m dreaming of a changed Cuba
for all the bloggers that I know
Where housing glistens
and children listen
to hear winds of freedom that now blow.

I’m dreaming of a free Cuba
with every Christmas card I write
where truth is spoken
and hotels open
to all Cubans
be they black or white.

May your world be merry and bright
and may freedom come to everyone tonight.
