Cuban Riot Police quash protest at university

A protest that has been brewing since July in a medical university for foreign students in Jagüey Grande, outside of Matanzas, Cuba, has been quashed by Cuban riot police. The university, which mainly caters to Muslim Pakistani medical students, was besieged by Cuban security dressed in full riot gear and assault rifles with bayonets.

Maria Elvira has video of the assault on the university:

The Pakistani students have been protesting over the inferior education they are receiving from the Cuban government and the lack of hospital facilities at the university. The students feel that the quality of education they are being provided in Cuba is not sufficient for them to be able to pass the exams required to be licensed physicians back home in Pakistan.
