  1. El Tipo es tremendo Comemierda es lo que es.

    For you Spanish challenged readers.
I said ” The guy is big shit eater, he is what he is”

  2. If you wait long enough, all colors come out in the wash. He’s in full-blown disclosure mode, for those naive enough to have given him the benefit of the doubt. He joins the reaking ranks of the Hollywood left – apestosos. I got rid of his music when he decided to sing in Cuba. Not going to allow any of my money to line his pockets.

  3. The MSM is like a drive-by shooter, mowing down one victim and then quickly abandoning the scene of the crime to move on to the next one. This is both protective and efficient. The Elian case is a perfect example. What wound up happening to him back in Cuba is EXACTLY what the Cuban exile community knew and warned would happen. That’s indisputable, but it’s treated as if it isn’t real or doesn’t matter. Nobody with a hand in sending the kid back has said one public word of regret, remorse or apology. Of course, the “family rights” types who were so vocal during the crisis never gave a shit about Elian per se, so it’s no skin off their nose that he was turned into a zombie. It was not about him; he was simply the bone of contention in a political and ideological battle whose real goal was to put “those people” in South Florida in their place.

As for Juanes and his Havana concert, everyone with half a brain knew perfectly well the thing was political, but the usual suspects played dumb and “idealistic” because the point was to make Cuban exiles look extremist and intolerant. Everyone and his cousin would have been vehemently opposed to such a concert in Johannesburg during the apartheid era, but again, the obvious double standard and hypocrisy don’t matter–that’s just the accepted norm. Cuban exiles are SUPPOSED to get screwed, dumped on and demonized. All the “best” people do it, and it’s safe as houses. Just ask Carl Hiaasen, the cartoonist Oliphant and their respective rags.

As I said before, Juanes is no different from your anonymous, generic “Latin” who’d never dare say a word against Che and who will never condemn Castro, Inc. unequivocally (if at all). If he had any real integrity, he would have denounced Castro’s well-known role in Colombia’s long guerrilla ordeal, and he would never have done anything even remotely pleasing or beneficial to Havana, but he’s behaved rather differently. He’s apparently perfectly happy to live in the US, with all the benefits that entails, but he maintains a suitably fashionable “progressive” (read leftoid) image. And, of course, he’s tapped into the media’s never-ending thirst for trashing the Cuban exile community and distorting its perfectly justified and righteous indignation against useful idiots, presenting it instead as hateful extremist intolerance (something the media would never do if the same sort of indignation were directed at a right-wing target).

In other words, we’re being set up. Again. By a schmuck for whose music I wouldn’t pay a dime (and that would be true regardless of his politics or lack thereof). So let him have at it. Let him go visit Fidel Caca, get photographed smiling ecstatically with Mr. Maximum, and then declare to the world that his time with Fidel was one of the greatest experiences of his life. Fine. Same shit, different asshole. There’s no shortage of them, obviously, and this guy is just some two-bit Hispanic music “star.” We’re not even talking Steven Spielberg, who’s at least an A-list a-hole, so forget little Juanes and move on. Al bagazo, poco caso.
