Two more Cuban prisoners of conscience go on a hunger strike

Two political prisoners, Lamberto Hernández Plana and Egberto Ángel Escobedo Morales, have declared themselves on hunger strike to protest the horrid conditions endured by political prisoners and prisoners of conscience in Cuba. They are also demanding the immediate release of Cuban activists currently imprisoned.

A Cuban political prisoner in jail since 2007, Jose Luque Alvarez, married, age 40, black belt in judo and former member of the national judo team, has disclosed that he was restrained and raped by prison personnel as punishment for saying “Down with Fidel and the dictatorship!” No word on the matter thus far from Princess Mariela.
