Freedom’s just another word for…

Janis Joplin sang freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose. In Cuba, however, the dictatorship sings a slightly different tune. Their version goes more like freedom’s just another word for banishment and forced exile.

Cuba authorizes release of five extra dissidents

(AFP) HAVANA — Cuba has authorized the release of five extra dissidents who are not among the 52 already set for freedom under a landmark deal reached in May, the Catholic Church said.

They “have accepted to leave prison and be transferred to Spain,” the Havana archbishopric said in a statement, naming them as Juana Maria Nieves, Domingo Ozuna, Juan Francisco Marimon, Misael Mena and Jose Luis Ramil.

It is amazing that the neither the media nor the vaunted “Cuba Experts” have made any effort to mention or discuss what the Castro regime and its accomplice the Catholic Church has made clear:

No Cuban can be free in Cuba. Freedom is only available to those Cubans who accept banishment and forced exile.

  1. Alberto, you really must stop making sense. You won’t get anywhere that way. Besides, everybody knows what you’re saying is true, including the media and the Cuba “experts.” It’s not an ignorance problem; they just don’t give a shit. They’re going to keep pushing their agenda till the proverbial cows come home. It’s not as if they’re out to promote truth, justice or freedom, especially not for Cubans. I mean, please.

  2. Asombra:

Every time someone says an untruth about Cuba, we must counter it. There is a reason they keep repeating the same lies over and over again; they are waiting for us to tire and so they will be the only word on the topic of Cuba.

It can be frustrating, and it can seem silly at times having to point out the obvious, but if we give them free reign to say and do whatever they please because their points are ridiculous and fantastical, we’d be doing exactly what they want. I will not allow them to lie with impunity, no matter how unbelievable the lie is. It is their strategy to wear us out, and after 51 years of fighting, I am not about to give them the pleasure.

    Ditto Alberto,

Unfortunately for all those spreading lies about the Cuban reality; we at Babalu (and the many others anti-Castro web sites) are not willing to give up the fight.

Los veos muy jodios si se creen que nos vamos a rendir…
