The Herald publishes an article by Tracy Eaton that takes a “on the one hand… on the other hand…” approach to Cuba and USAID.
On the one hand, USAID programs provide help and support to the beleaguered and brutally oppressed democracy activists on the island, who risk their lives and those of their families every day to fight against a repressive and murderous dictatorial regime.
On the other hand, USAID programs offend the repressive and murderous dictatorial regime in Cuba and makes them very angry.
Wow, tough choice there. Do we help freedom loving Cubans, or do we appease the totalitarian dictatorship that enslaves Cubans and murders them?
What a moral dilemma.
