Respect? Really?

Oprah wants ‘respect’ for the president:

Oprah called on President Obama’s critics on Friday to “show some level of respect.”

“I feel that everybody has a learning curve, and I feel that the reason why I was willing to step out for him was because I believed in his integrity and I believed in his heart,” the influential TV host said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” in Chicago.

Of the negative mood of the country, Oprah added, “I think everybody complaining ought to try it for once.”

She said the presidency is a position that “holds a sense of authority and governance over us all,” and that “even if you’re not in support of his policies, there needs to be a certain level of respect.”

So, O, do you mean ‘respect’ like this?

Or this?

Or this?

Or this?

There are hundreds, if not thousands more examples like these, Michelle Malkin has catalogued. So, please, point your critical eye to your own party and spare us your sanctimonious bullshit.

  1. Fat Oprah is full of you know what(pun intended).

Oprah asks for respect for Obama and she did not have the courtesy of interviewing Sarah Palin during the 2008 campaign.

The same goes for the liberals, they spent eight years insulting George W. Bush and the Republicans, now they insult the Tea Party and the conservatives and have the freaking galls to ask that Obama be respected.

But this is not the problem, the issue is that Obama is wrecking America with his Marxist/Socialist agenda and according to Oprah he cannot be criticized for his actions, Obama is untouchable according to Oprah.

In my book Oprah can go fly a kite with her BS.

  2. So how is TON (The Oprah Network) doing? Think this will help? Her going political sure did wonders for her old show didn’t it?

  3. Ah, Oprah. Who of course knows best. Who of course is entitled to lecture the lowly masses and preach the “correct” gospel unasked. Who of course is an Important Person and is Very Serious and is a Major Expert on all She surveys. Who are we, mere foolish and unevolved cretins, to defy Her wishes? I mean, She even has Her own magazine, you know. We’re not worthy.

Oprah has never interested me (except, at a distance, as a manifestation of popular culture, such as it regrettably is). I have never watched her show, but I once saw a brief segment from one, when she was already in full Sacred Cash Cow mode, and found her distinctly offputting. I have virtually no tolerance for cases of much ado about not much (which are far too common, and their degree of fame or fortune changes nothing).

If you want to carry on like a diva (a now meaningless term), you’d damn better be able to sing like one, or do whatever it is you do as well as a REAL diva performs. Maria Callas was a diva; Mariah Carey is not and never will be. Putting on airs is like dressing a pig in haute couture. Sorry: it’s still a pig.

So never mind that it was not only OK but practically mandatory to show Bush no respect whatsoever. Forget the double standard, the hypocrisy and the political correctness. Don’t waste your time trying to reform the incorrigible. Just say FUCK YOU and act accordingly.

  4. “Of the negative mood of the country, Oprah added, ‘I think everybody complaining ought to try it for once.’”

Would she EVER have said this about Bush or some other Republican president? Not a chance. O yeah, she’s very credible. What pompous fools these celebs be.
