Declaration from Antúnez in Cuba

Jorge Luis Garcia Perez “Antúnez” reports from Cuba that the march in commemoration of the anniversary of the death of Orlando Zapata Tamayo has been a great success. In spite of the wave of repression carried out by the Castro regime to arrest, detain, and harass members of the opposition in Cuba, they have all raised their voices to say “Zapata Vive!”

Antúnez reports that there have been detentions and arrests all over the island and several cities in Cuba are currently under siege by Castro security. There have been numerous acts of repudiation against dissidents, but they have persisted and continue to come out to peacefully demonstrate in the streets.

“In a few minutes I, too, will go out to the streets,” Antúnez declared, “to render my tribute to Orlando Zapata Tamayo, to demand the liberty of political prisoners, to demand an end to the aggression, and to say ‘Zapata Vive!”
