In All Reality This Is Not “Peace” … It Is Laying in Wait

There is no doubt Israel is the strongest, if not the only, one true democracy in the Middle East. All the alleged democracies in the region have had their respective governments toppled, or are in the process of having them ousted. Let’s not fool ourselves. The shouts of “democracy” and “freedom” are a farce, as the Muslim Brotherhood and radical fundamentalist Islamists wait on the formalities of elections in these Muslim/Arab countries. And where Israel is not surrounded by one of these countries that hate them, they are bordered by the Mediterranean Sea … where these countries want to drown them into extinction as a people, a religion, and a nation.

Obama believed he was coming up with yet another original bright solution that would solve all problems before him. Return Israel to the pre-1967 borders. In all reality this is the lamb surrounded by the wolf and defenseless. In all reality it is a final solution for the Jewish Israelis. In all reality it is tossing Israel under the proverbial bus.

Furthermore, Obama had, prior to making his statement, assured Israel’s PM Netanyahu there would be no surprises … “Taqiyya”.

bibi

How dare, Netanyahu!

In the aftermath, the MSM and others are appalled by Israel’s PM Netanyahu firmly opposing Obama’s plan for a pre-1967 Israel while visiting the Oval Office. The Israeli PM was “Really, really rude!”

In all reality, these are people who are now getting their news from Al-Jazeera … In all reality these same people would be applauding anyone who had done the same dressing-down to, say, Pres. George W. Bush. They took great satisfaction in Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez “El Diablo” rant and Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ripping into Pres. Bush and the United States from the floor of the United Nations. But no! Nobody should ever address their Obama in that manner … ever. And especially NOT in the Oval Office. Even if the occupant had just expressed a desire for that leader’s nation to bow down and become defenseless against their deadly enemies.

Sunday, Obama was at the AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) gathering. There was much anticipation as to how the crowd would receive him, and were warned against any outward displays of opposition (See: booing) to Obama for his statements.

In the fallout of his anti-Israel statement, and Netanyahu’s firm scolding in the Oval Office, Obama made people believe he was clarifying his previous statement, but actually doubled-down on his previous statement, and claimed he was being “misrepresented” in them:

WaPo blogger Jennifer Rubin tweeting from the AIPAC speech is unimpressed:

not a long speech-says he gave it on thurs — stone silence. . . Bibi”s name gets applause..

even disagree as friends disagree US bond to isr unshakable . . . he takes NOTHING back. . . #AIPAC2011

O:core issues only be negot by parties. . . says Hamas is really a barrier to peace. . . so? so? call to release Gilad Shalit. . . what is he doing?

“broad outlines have been known for many years” — this is bunk — the crowd is silent #AIPAC2011

silent for large periods. . . ive never seen such unenthusiasm for dem pres by largely jewish audience #AIPAC2011

And then there are those of the Jewish faith in this country that supported Obama in his POTUS bid … but are now horrified by his proposal for Israel.

Gene Simmons of KISS sums it up best:

Democratic senior statesman Ed Koch is contemplating jumping political parties.

Alan Dershowitz warns Obama has torpedoed the peace process in the Middle East.

But then there will always be the diehard Obama sycophantshere in our MSM, and even in Israel that worship their leftist/liberal ideology to the point of insanity.

But what takes the cake is the complete distortion of REALITY some of the media in this country will go through to craft the public’s perception of an issue:

The NYT Tarts Up the AIPAC Report and the New America Foundation to Make Obama Look Better

In all reality, Obama’s 1967 borders statement is a major policy shift for the United States where Israel is concerned. And New York Daily News owner Mort Zuckerman fears Israel now believes for the first time America no longer supports or defends Israel … So do I.

In a debate during the 2004 presidential election, John Kerry expressed how he would seek a permission from the United Nations and our ‘allies’ before having America defend herself from attack, to which Pres. Bush replied America does not need permission to defend herself. In the eyes of the world media, and the appeasing liberal/leftist Western World, Israel has always needed their permission to defend herself. And now Israel is expected to return to a position where they would not have a high ground, and would be at the mercy of it’s hate-filled, blood-thirsty enemies. Israel has a right to exist and live.

In all reality the wolf is the aggressor, and will always be on the prowl as long as it smells prey … no matter where “borders” are drawn.

And THAT is the reality of the Middle East situation …

  1. Tell it to the 78% of American Jews that voted for Obama. He may lose some of them, but I fully expect he will still get a majority of the Jewish vote in 2012 unless, God forbid, there’s a major disaster for Israel as a result of his, uh, “leadership.”

  2. And then Obama goes to AIPAC to talk out of the other side of his mouth and all will be well again among liberals here. But I am hoping the evangelicals have better memories and will finally leave this guy.

  3. Obama is not that stupid. He may realize that he’s burning his bridges with some [not all] American Jews, so he’s trying to buttress his support elsewhere for the upcoming elections. Didn’t he go back to Ireland to–among er, uh, other things—learn about his Irish roots?

He has unconditional black support, though I suspect that blacks are also disillusioned by him, and now he’s trying to garner the support of the estimated 50,000,000 Americans of Irish ancestry. What a ploy.

This is the man who depicts himself as an Afro-American even though he was raised by his white grandparents in Hawaii, that bastion of “afro-american culture” and even though he only once fleetingly met his Kenyan father. Besides, Kenyans are not afro-americans. Two totally different cultures.

The more that I look at Obama, the phonier he appears.

  4. That photo above is not Bibi, it’s Yoni, his brother, in a paratrooper uniform.

Obama will have lost some support among jewish voters, it remains to be seen how deep. Netanyahu lecturing Obama in the Whitehouse in front of the cameras would have been otherwise quite entertaining if it wasn’t such a serious matter. Obama calling for a return to the ’67 borders shows just how out of depth his administration is in their exercise of foreign policy.

  5. I do not think Obama is out of his depth. I think he really believes the obstacle to “peace” is Israel. And why shouldn’t he? When a liberal friend Jewish told me just this morning that she went to Israel and the Israelis hate Obama. I told her it is unprecedented that Israelis should hate a Jewish president so why doesn’t that impress her? Her response was to tell me that her very Zionist Rabbi gave a sermon to the congregation to support Obama and say he is being misunderstood.
So why should Obama not have idiotic perspectives when Jews agree with him no matter what terrible things he chooses to do and say?
I am beside myself. I am shouting now at my liberal Jewish friends.

  6. It’s sad, not to say creepy, when people defend someone who’s obviously bad for them. It’s like the battered wife who defends her clearly abusive husband and says it’s just that other people don’t “understand” the situation, but that he’s really a good man. I mean, we’re talking pathologic rationalization here, not to mention denial. Is it really THAT critical for American Jews to maintain their liberal image and affiliation?

  7. asombra,
You keep calling liberal image and importance of affiliation. That is not what this is.
The reason Jews support this president and hated Bush is that Bush was pro life and Obama will appoint liberal judges. Liberals are terrified of a conservative court. They are wrong to be so, but that is a fact we have to understand.
They are obsessed about this. Then liberals, who really wanted Hillary, who is just as bad, but they don’t know that, got stuck with Obama and went with it. Look what they get. They get to show they are not racists and they can be relieved that this guy is so great he brought along with him a liberal sweep. They got more and more fanatic about him and more and more vested in Bush hatred. There is nothing here to do with protecting an image. It is what they believe.
Add to that the fact that their hatred of the Christian right is fanatic and also based on anti pro lifers and now they must defend what they have vested themselves in.
They are in it so deep that it is now like a religion. No fact can dissuade them. But what he did to Netanyahu – twice – is being noticed. I don’t say it will bring us a win in 2012, but he won’t get 78% of the Jewish vote this time. He shouldn’t get any, but religious fervor is hard to interfere with.

  8. Honey, I could hardly know better than you about liberal Jews, but why would they be so obsessed with the abortion issue? Why would that one particular matter make such a huge difference to them and blind them to practically everything else, especially the threat to Israel? I don’t get that.

  9. Podhoretz is right and Milton Friedman also wrote similarly. Dr. Friedman said Jews were always conservative before the 1930’s when Fascism came up and communists were the only anti fascists. Since then it has been very difficult for Jews to like conservatives.
The thing is Jews are the smartest, most industrious, most frugal, most personally capitalistic in their handling of business and money, most moral in their life choices and how they raise their children. Why aren’t they conservatives? Why do they assume I’m a gorgon because I proudly proclaim that I am a right wing conservative?
None of it makes sense to me. They live one way and vote against the way they live and against their better interests.
I have seen glimmers this week of nervousness. But will it last?
A friend of mine came home from Israel and told me they HATE Obama there. I told her this is unprecedented. Israelis always love American presidents. She told me her rabbi, who is a big Zionist, told his congregation that everyone is misjudging Obama, that he is a good friend of Israel. I told her to ask her Rabbi if he hated Bush. I told her when he tells you, YES, I rest my case about how he is wrong on everything.

  10. Podhoretz writes: “in virtually every instance of a clash between Jewish law and contemporary liberalism, it is the liberal creed that prevails for most American Jews…for them, liberalism has become more than a political outlook. It has for all practical purposes superseded Judaism and become a religion in its own right. And to the dogmas and commandments of this religion they give the kind of steadfast devotion their forefathers gave to the religion of the Hebrew Bible.”

That rings true, and I think the continued liberal Jewish support for Obama, or the extreme reluctance to reject him in spite of increasingly ominous signs, speaks of a religious (or religion-like) motivation as opposed to a merely political one. It’s sort of like Cuban Catholics who are in denial about the Vatican’s handling of the Cuba situation because facing it is too threatening to their religious faith (though this sort of dilemma is more of an issue for liberal Jews, who are very seriously liberal, while most Cubans are not that serious about their Catholicism).

This explains why liberal Jews are steadfast Dems even when that means supporting an Obama, but it does not explain (to me) why they are so invested in being such orthodox liberals in the first place. Why have they chosen that as their religion? Yes, at one point (now clearly past) the extreme left (communism) opposed the fascism behind the Holocaust, but it had previously been allied to it, and it only opposed it out of self-interest and self-protection, NOT out of any moral righteousness, let alone pro-Jewish sympathies. Jews are far too intelligent not to see that two horrible monsters are no less horrible because they are each other’s enemy, especially when both of them ultimately want basically the same thing and simply don’t want to lose to the other monster.

I’m sorry, maybe I’m dense, but I still don’t get it, possibly because it’s not rational.

  11. asombra,
Your last sentence says it. Never expect facts and logic when you are dealing with a liberal. Go to yotube and put in Klavan on the Culture. All of those videos are priceless but the first is the standard. “How to talk to a liberal”. Spectacular and the story of my life.

    Conduct an experiment:
Make a script, something like the following and then try to talk to a liberal and see how close the script is to reality. I predict it will be utterly accurate.

A liberal asks you a question, well, what about so and so, knowing that this time he’s got you.
You answer giving facts and logic because that’s what you deal in. You get one or all of the following responses:

    1. You’re crazy.
    2. That’s crazy.
    3. I never heard that. Where did you get that?
    And my all time favorite,
    4. I don’t want to talk about it.

In the other scenario you are listening to a group of liberals spouting their usual ad hominem to Bush or praise of Obama or some other baloney (perhaps on why the Cuban embargo should be lifted because it hasn’t worked, etc…gag me with a spoon) and you are trying to keep out of it, but you finally can’t resist because the inconsistencies and fallacies are driving you crazy.
So you say, just a minute, and proceed to try to insert some facts and logic into the discussion. For the reactions to your intrusion refer to one through four above.

Finally a few rules. Liberals (don’t call me a liberal) are humorless. They do not know from irony or wit. They are always dead serious, so much more than YOU will ever be. They own the market on moral superiority, so much more moral than you will ever be. They CARE more than you do. And they do not know how to argue. I know all of this from bitter experience. You want to have a good argument? Argue with a conservative.

So, asombra, if a Jew is a liberal, see all that I have written above. It is a primer.
