Cuba Nostalgia 2012: More fun, and more crowing from the rooster

We are less than three weeks away from Cuba Nostalgia 2012, and this year is shaping up to be another exciting one! We are proud to announce that joining us at the Babalú pavilion this year will be Cuban American journalist, author, and friend, Carlos Frias. With the help of the always wonderful Books & Books in Coral Gables, Carlos will be available to sign copies of his magnificent book, Take Me with You: A Secret Search for Family in a Forbidden Cuba.

In addition to Carlos’ book, we will also have available for purchase at our pavilion Cuban historian Manuel Marquez-Sterling’s excellent historical tome, Cuba 1952-1959: The True Story of Castro’s Rise to Power.

Also, don’t forget that WDNA radio personality Viviam Maria, the host of the excellent weekly radio show Cubaneando heard every Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on WDNA FM 88.9 in South Florida and live-streamed to the world on the internet will be bringing us some great classic Cuban music and giving us a taste of some great Cuban jazz.

Plus, thanks to the generosity of painter Cesar Santalo, the artist who designed this year’s Cuba Nostalgia poster, we will be raffling off a cigar box hand painted by Cesar himself (see picture below).
