Ros-Lehtinen Thanks Connie Mack for Hosting Hearing on Cuban Dictatorship’s Intelligence & Terrorism Network
(WASHINGTON) – U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement thanking her colleague U.S. Rep. Connie Mack (R-FL), Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, for hosting a hearing titled “Cuba’s Global Network of Terrorism, Intelligence and Warfare.” Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:
“I would like to thank my South Florida colleague, Connie Mack, for hosting this timely hearing examining the Cuban tyranny’s global terrorism and intelligence network. We all know that the Castro brothers are intent on undermining our foreign policy at every opportunity they get, and it’s important to focus Congressional attention on their actions.
“The Cuban dictatorship’s well-funded intelligence services are renowned the world over, and its ties to radical extremists are well documented. As long as the Castro threat exists, the Congress has a responsibility to exert strong oversight to protect America’s security.”
NOTE: The hearing will take place later today, Thursday, May 17th at 3:00 pm in Room 2172 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Click here for more information.
