“Oswaldo Paya Sardinas was born in Havana in 1952, when Cuba was still run by the US-backed dictator Anastasio Somoza. He was six when Castro and Guevara rolled into the capital, smoking big cigars, having forced Somoza to flee.”
Unfuckingbelievable.
Trujillo was right next door. But no. For his gaffe Davison goes 600 miles away!

Several people have pointed out this risible gaffe to The Independent, and it still hasn’t been fixed. Their editorial staff must be no better tha the Miami Herald’s. Sheesh.
