Best tweet of the night (C/O Pitbull’s sister): “Obama better hope a kicked ass is covered under Obamacare.” – Dennis Miller

@iowahawkblog: “Remember when they found out about Milli Vanilli? Yeaahhp. Pretty much that.”

Charles Krauthammer: “Romney won by two touchdowns.”

@JRubinBlogger: The problem is that no one ever tells Obama his attacks on Romney aren’t true.. Facts to Obama=water to wicked witch… He’s melting..

  1. So enjoyed watching that ass kicking. Romney really showed what it’s like without having the MSM filter the results for us.
My kids watched the first 1/2 of the debate at their mom’s house, before she switched to a movie on Netflix she needed. Sort of taking her sorrows out for a swim.. maybe with the rest of NBC? The kids saw that, my kids (the canadians!) saw an empty suit.
I would have liked to see Michelle’s face at the moment of “you’re not entitled to your own facts”
Just feel so fucking optimistic at this moment. So hope that Rush / Sean / Levin pile on tomorrow.

Next up, RYAN vs biden. Do you think Joe has a sense of the doom?

  2. It was a great start! He could have nailed him to the cross a couple of times- hopefully just keeping some stuff back to nail him during the next two debates. As Glen Reynolds says-let’s enjoy our moment but nit get cocky. Reagan lost hs first debate. Luckily for us Obama is no Reagan, just a lazy, I’ll-prepared bag of wind propped up by press and other libs.

  3. “This wasn’t so much a debate, as it was a mature, successful businessman smacking down an affirmative action community organizer.”

    Exactly…

  4. marc in calgary: You got there before I could! I saw it on Instapundit. Classic.

I didn’t see every minute of the debate, but I gather that Romney looked like a sensible businessman and Obama looked like…like…a guy whose one major talent just deserted him at the worst (best?) imaginable time.

(Truth be told, even that’s probably too kind: Without a Teleprompter, Obama looks like Mr. Magoo pitching “quality used jewelry”…on public-access TV.)

  5. Obama’s “major talent” is a teleprompted trick, an illusion, a shell. It only works on those who want/need him to embody the fantasies they project onto him, and it’s largely the basis of his pathetic vanity. This guy’s not fit to be a state governor, let alone POTUS. He’s not just a bad president like Carter was—he’s someone playing president like an actor playing Jesus. Obama is the result of affirmative action carried to the extreme, and all who’ve enabled him should be ashamed, and they are certainly discredited. The fact that such an insubstantial poseur was put in the White House is a crushing indictment of the degeneracy of our electorate, not to mention the nauseating corruption of the MSM. Americans have to rise above this sort of insanity, or they’re no better than the Latrine Americans, who at least have the excuse of eternal dysfunction and chronic failure.

  6. You know the real problem? Obama thinks he’s above debating or delivering, above everything. He thinks he’s simply ENTITLED and should have re-election handed to him on a silver platter like he’s had everything handed to him his entire life. He doesn’t think he should have to actually earn anything. He’s Barack Obama.

  7. Obama truly looked like a kid being scolded.

His combination of narcissist and bluff serves him well in monologues directed at useful dummies but it isn’t one for debates, it never has and much less now with a record, he knew what was coming.

  8. “He thinks he’s simply ENTITLED and should have re-election handed to him on a silver platter like he’s had everything handed to him his entire life. He doesn’t think he should have to actually earn anything. He’s Barack Obama.”

    Indeed asombra,

Obama doesn’t understand the meaning of the phrase, I BUILT THAT; which it means that in the real world no one gives it to you on a free platter, instead YOU (Obama in this case) have to EARN IT…

    Gallardo,

You too nailed it with your comment…
