In a report in the BBC by journalist and Castro dictatorship supporter Fernando Ravsberg, an anonymous Cuban regime filmmaker remarks on the Castro dictatorship’s blatant piracy of American movies (my translation):
“They no longer buy new releases and instead live off pirated material. That is the reason we only see American movies. If they would get rid of the blockade tomorrow, we would have to shut down 3 or 4 television channels because all they broadcast is pirated material.”
