Over 900 political arrests in Cuba during April, Castro regime on pace to double number of detentions

With just one-third of the way through 2014, Cuba’s apartheid Castro dictatorship is on pace to almost double the number of political arrests on the island this year. According to the independent Cuban Commission on Human Rights and National Reconciliation, 905 politically motivated arrests of dissidents and opposition members took place and were documented on the island during the month of April. This brings the year-to-date total of documented political arrests in Cuba to 3,814 and a monthly average of detentions of 954 arrests.

At this pace, the Castro regime will come very close to doubling the already record-breaking political arrest numbers recorded in Cuba during 2012 and 2013.

Keep in mind that all of this is taking place while Cuba’s dictator, Raul Castro, is being touted as a “reformer” by the “Cuba Experts” as well as the international press.

  1. It’s OK. In the realm of “magical realism,” these things happen, and the noble savages who dwell there understand and accept it. It’s a leftist Latrine totalitarian thing; first-world people wouldn’t understand.
