Hungry clients of McDonald’s in Venezuela are in for a surprise: an encounter with their own country’s bizarro version of Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi episode.
ABC Spain reports:
Due to a shortage of potatoes, the McDonald’s restaurant chain in the Castro colony of Venenozuela can no longer serve its signature French fries.
One employee of the fast-food chain is quoted as saying
“Desde hace dos semanas no tenemos papas (…) son importadas de Canadá y faltan divisas” (We haven’t had potatoes for two weeks…they’re imported from Canada and we can’t pay for them).
It was bound to happen, eventually.
And this is just the beginning. If you need confirmation, just ask anyone who lived through the Castro takeover in Cuba over half a century ago.
As Fidel might have said back in 1960, when potatoes became scarce in Cuba: “Aquí resistímos las papitas, y rechazamos y aniquilamos las papitas! Papitas para nadie!” (Here we resist fries, we reject and annihilate fries! No fries for anyone!)
See the rest of his memorable anti-french-fries speech in the caption of the photo below….
Wait, Venezuelans, just wait. Sorry to say “I told you so,” but you should have seen this coming.
Today it’s toilet paper and french fries, tomorrow it will be something else, and the next day something else, and so on, ad nauseam, ad infinitum.
This is what 21st century socialism and your Bolivarian revolution are all about.
This is what you get for being a colony of the Castro Kingdom. Sorry.
Whole sad story HERE in the imperialist Castellano dialect
