  1. Humberto, a small victory, there were so many people writing and complaining at the articles statement that Lucy and Desi were an interracial couple that the Huffington Report had no choice but to issue a clarification. I copy and paste:

    CLARIFICATION: A previous version of this article referred to Ball and Arnaz’s relationship as “interracial.” More accurately their relationship is “multiethnic,” inasmuch as “Hispanic” is not a racial category, according to the U.S. Census.

  3. Forget Desi Arnaz. When supposedly serious sources call Ted Cruz or Rubio non-white, you know there’s a problem, and I don’t mean eye trouble. It’s called bigotry, racism and/or bad faith.

    Thank MALDEF, NATIONAL COUNCIL OF LA RAZA and groups like ATZLAN for this lunacy. It’s gotten so extreme that not even Spaniards are considered white. The chicanos wanted Afirmative Action and they didn’t want to be identified by nationality anymore [it was too disparaging–they felt– or newspapers to identify criminals as Mexicans, so they insisted that the Census Department call us all Hispanics]. Over time, “Hispanic” was deemed to European for the leftist fringe of the Chicano movement, so they insisted that it be changed to “Latino” which has come to mean a non-white person.
