33rd Sunday of violent repression in Cuba by Obama-backed apartheid dictatorship

With no fear of consequences and the full backing and support of the Obama administration regardless of what they do, Cuba’s apartheid Castro dictatorship carried out its 33rd consecutive Sunday of violent repression on the island. Close to 100 peaceful human rights activists and dissidents were violently arrested yesterday as they peacefully marched in protest against Cuba’s dictatorship.

Martí Noticias has the report (my translation):

Ladies in White and other activists arrested during #TodosMarchamos campaign

For the 33rd consecutive Sunday since they started their march along with other activists in the opposition, the Ladies in White prayed at Santa Rita church and then marched down Miramar’s Fifth Avenue as they carried out their “We All March” campaign.

“These have been 33 Sundays of repression, but also 33 Sundays of resistance and perseverance by human rights activists,” said the leader of the Ladies in White Berta Soler to Radio Martí.

Between the Ladies in White and the Patriotic Union of Cuba, there were more than 20 arrests of peaceful activists. Moreover, as it has been the case in the past, their whereabouts are unknown.

Soler also denounced the arrests of more than 80 activists who participate in the same march in other parts of the country.

The Ladies in White are a peaceful movement that march every Sunday in different parts of the country to demand the release of all political prisoners in Cuba.
