Leave Bernie Sanders ALONE! Hailing Fidel Castro is a traditional and mainstream Democratic talking point (Here’s the proof)

Bernie is simply following an old Democrat tradition….

“In 1959  everybody was totally convinced that Castro was the worst guy in the world and all of the Cuban people were going to rise up in rebellion against Fidel Castro. They forgot that he educated their kids, gave their kids healthcare.(Bernie Sanders 1985.)

“Yes, Bernie.  He certainly educated them…is that what you planned as U.S. President?”

“He educated their kids, gave their kids healthcare. (Bernie Sanders on Fidel Castro 1985.)”

In fact, contrary to the leftist fairy tale: in 1958 (the year prior to the glorious revolution), Cuba ranked 13th from the top, worldwide with the lowest infant-mortality rate. This meant that robustly capitalist and immigrant-swamped pre-Castro Cuba had the 13th lowest infant-mortality rate in the world. This put her not only at the top in Latin America but atop most of Western Europe, ahead of France, Belgium, West Germany, Israel, Japan, Austria, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Today all of these countries leave Communist Cuba in the dust,

(Jimmy Carter is widely hailed as the Democratic party’s “Elder Statesman.”)

“We greeted each other as old friends, (Jimmy Carter upon greeting Fidel Castro in 2011.) Fidel Castro first and foremost is and always has been a committed egalitarian. He wanted a system that provided the basic needs to all — enough to eat, health care, adequate housing and education. Cuba has superb systems of health care and universal education…We greeted each other as old friends.” (Jimmy Carter)

“In 2002, we received him (Jimmy Carter) warmly,” Fidel reciprocated. “Now, I reiterated to him our respect and esteem.”

(George Mc Govern was widely hailed as the “Conscience” of the Democratic Party)

“Castro is very shy and sensitive. I frankly like him and regard him as a friend. Everywhere (in Cuba) we were surrounded by laughing children who obviously loved Fidel.” ( George McGovern after his first Cuba visit in 1975.)

“A great service for the cause of human freedom. Every American should read this book. (David Horowitz on Fidel; Hollywood’s Favorite Tyrant.)

“Humberto Fontova’s book teaches us truths about Castro’s island that are very discomfiting for many intellectuals.” Ana Botella (Spain’s former First Lady while giving a book reading in Madrid, upon “Fidel; HFT” release in Spain)

  1. The one thing I will give credit to Bernie for is his honesty … he is a socialist and doesn’t hide from it, unlike all the other Democrats. I disagree with most of what he says, but at least he tells the truth unlike Hillary, who will say anything to be elected.
