Imagine any news organization in the world saying: “Happy Birthday, Adolph!” (Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Mein Führer!) or referring to him as “leader of Germany’s Nazi party” rather than as “monster” or “mass murderer.”
Imagine the Führer’s birthday celebrations being described breathlessly, along with the love his people have for him, with no mention of the Führer’s darker side….
Yikes! imagine what would happen!
Aaaah. But why even imagine those possibilities?
We’re talking about Fidel here, not Adolph. Fidel Good, Adolph Bad. Fidel Cute and Lovely, Adolph Ugly and Mean. Fidel Hero, Adolph Villain. You get the point….
Fidel has done so, so much for his people. Yes. Massah Fidel done been mighty good to his slaves, yessir, he done been mighty good, sho’ nuff.
His slaves, you see, are noble savages who need him. Inferior folk. Adolph’s slaves were civilized white folk. How dare anyone enslave or mistreat white folk?
So, Feliz cumpleaños, Massah Fidel….Massah Comandante…
He gets to turn 90. How many Cuban children has he killed? How many Cubans in their teens, twenties, thirties, forties… and so on, up to 90? How many Cubans has he imprisoned and tortured? Who cares?
Aaah… but the psalmist says (Psalm 94): “God of vengeance, shine forth! Rise up, O Judge of the earth, Render recompense to the proud. How long shall the wicked, O LORD, How long shall the wicked exult?”
Jesus says ” love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44).
USA Today says: “Feliz cumpleaños, Fidel!”

Cuba ready to party as Fidel Castro turns 90 on Saturday
Feliz cumpleaños, Fidel!
Fidel Castro, the former leader of Cuba’s communist party, turns 90 Saturday, and Cuba plans to celebrate the occasion.
The Cuban Institute of Music will be hosting “a great cantata and concerts” across the country.
“Over one hundred children’s choirs and concert bands will sing in unison, across the country, at cultural institutions, in squares and parks to celebrate with a lot of joy the birthday of Fidel, the father of all of Cuba’s children,” the institute wrote in a press release.
