It may be debatable how advanced that civilization was, but it’s definitely dead, certainly in Cuba. What replaced it is a degenerate and dysfunctional primitive society for which the driving force is basic survival or, if possible, escape. Vestiges of the lost civilization exist outside Cuba, but they are highly unlikely to return to the island–it is simply too contaminated, like the aftermath of some horrible nuclear plant disaster.
