Late night update: Irma slams into Cuba with 160 mph winds

Given how tightly the Castro regime keeps a lid on all news, we might not know the extent of the devastation caused by Irma on that island for a while.

But Irma just hit the north shore of Cuba — dotted with apartheid beach resorts — as a category 5 hurricane.

Not good for anyone involved, for sure.

But all that the American news media can do is to focus on Florida, Irma’s next target.

Stay safe, be safe, everyone in Irma’s path…

From Palm Beach Post:

Irma is making landfall along the north coast of Cuba with maximum sustained winds hitting 160 mph, making it a Category 5 hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Irma is about 300 miles south-southeast of Miami and headed west at 13 mph. The hurricane warning has been extended northward on the east coast
of Florida to the Volusia/Brevard County line and on the west coast of Florida to Anclote River.

From the National Hurricane Center:

Hurricane Irma Advisory Number 40 NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL112017 1100 PM EDT Fri Sep 08 2017 …IRMA MAKING LANDFALL ON THE CAMAGUEY ARCHIPELAGO OF CUBA AS A CATEGORY 5 HURRICANE… …HURRICANE WARNINGS EXTENDED NORTHWARD ALONG THE FLORIDA PENINSULA…

  1. I heard one commentator say that the best hope for Florida is if Irma hit Cuba with full force and the hurricane might then be less damaging than expected to Florida.
    Irony.
So did Castro and his cronies leave the island and fly to shelter or did they stay?
Wouldn’t it be lovely if the powers that be got all of their shelters demolished and had nowhere left to hide? Unfortunately it is ordinary Cubans who will suffer most.
