Lack of interest in travel to apartheid Cuba forces Delta to discontinue its New York to Havana flight

Delta has just announced they will discontinue their New York to Havana, Cuba flight on September 1st due to lack of demand. The route began in 2016 as a daily flight but when demand for vacations in apartheid Cuba never materialized, it was reduced to a single weekly flight. Apparently, even that was too much and Delta will now scrap the New York-Havana route all together.

Delta to end New York-Havana flights

Delta Air Lines will discontinue flights from New York to Havana, Cuba effective Sept. 1.

The Atlanta-based airline in December 2016 launched fights to Havana from Atlanta, Miami and New York.

In February 2018, Delta drew down the New York-Havana route to once a week from daily. Meanwhile, it plans to add a second daily flight from Miami to Havana.
