U.S. media not reporting the violence in Nicaragua

We understand that the U.S. media can only cover so much, but this is a rather huge omission: the Ortega government down in Nicaragua has unleashed a violent response against the people.

Yes — why the silence?

Maybe this is one of those events that does not fit the narrative, or something like that!

It’s sad that these leftist leaders usually end up being more brutal than the regimes they replace.

Yes, the old man Somoza was a tough character and he didn’t up put up with communists like Sandino. And his family did spend too much money in Miami or showing off their sports cars.

At the same time, the country worked, the farms produced, and the cities were safe, as anyone familiar with that time will tell you. Under Ortega’s leftism, the country does not work, the farms don’t produce, and the cities are unsafe.

Sad for Nicaragua. Shame on the U.S. news media for overlooking how another lefty is cracking heads and killing people.

I’ll bet that the U.S. media would have never been silent if old man Somoza had ordered the killing of 300 protesters.

  1. It is okay, nay it is essential for liberals to proclaim Putin is evil and terrible and not to be trusted, after decades of refusing to criticize communism and interfering with efforts of presidents to fight communism. Dontcha just love that?

But worry about Nicaragua? Venezuela? Cuba’s tyranny? Nah. Not my problem. Nothing to see here, move on.
In fact if I try to remind my liberal friends about their sudden conversion on Putin now that Trump is president (and if Hillary were, you could never get them to be so adamantly against Putin) they have no idea what I am talking about. They always hated Communism. No self knowledge.
And If I show rage at the leaders in Cuba, they tell me Castro is long dead and why am I still worried. What can you do in the face of so much lack of interest?
Joseph McCarthy is the one they hated. Well, he’s long dead, too so why are they still worried about him?

Anyway, you get the idea. Selective indignation rules.
