After canceling a gay rights parade for fear it would spark protests, Cuba’s socialist dictatorship forbid any independent marches by gay rights activists on the island. Some of the activists did not heed the warning and paid a heavy price for their defiance of the socialist dictatorship.
Far from the progressive fantasy of equality and freedom for all, this is what real socialism looks like.
