Taking down Socialism: Cuban Americans run for Congress

Vowing to fight against the rising Socialist tide, Cuban-Americans are stepping up to run for Congress from South Florida to New York, Tennessee, and everywhere in between!

With Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and their Socialist Squad handing Nancy Pelosi the Democrat majority in Congress, the threat that America may take the dangerous path towards Socialism is more prevalent than ever.

What better way to stand up to the Socialist Squad than to elect Representatives in Congress who have experienced the horrors of Socialism first-hand? Perhaps no group of people understands this Socialist threat better than the Cuban-American community.

Since 1959, thousands of Cubans have fled the Socialist hell hole that the island has become after 61 years of the brutal Castro regime. Today, over 2.3 million Americans of Cuban descent call the United States home.

Unsurprisingly, two of our nation’s leading voices against Socialism are Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL). Both are proud sons of Cuban exiles who have stood up to Socialism time after time.

Last cycle, Cuban-American Congressmen Alex Mooney (WV-02) and Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) were joined by Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (OH-16), an Ohio State football star and former NFL player, in the US House of Representatives.

Now in 2020, Emmy Award-Winning Journalist Maria Elvira Salazar (FL-27) and Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez (FL-26) are running to win back two Miami-based seats the Democrats flipped in 2018.

[…]

In Tennessee, Kingsport Mayor John Clark (TN-01)who escaped Communist Cuba as a child with his family and arrived legally to the United States is running for an open Republican seat in the Smoky Mountain foothills. A successful businessman, entrepreneur, and conservative leader, John Clark is seeking to succeed long-time incumbent Phil Roe in a district that Republicans have held for over 150 years!

Mayor Clark wholeheartedly supports President Trump’s call that “America will NEVER be a Socialist country!”

Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), the daughter of Greek and Cuban immigrants, is running to take on one-term Democrat incumbent Max Rose in a Trump district that spans Staten Island and Brooklyn — two areas that she currently represents in New York’s legislature.

Malliotakis has already been endorsed by the Republican Party in both Staten Island and Brooklyn and should be favored to win in a district that President Trump easily carried in 2016. If Republicans are to regain the majority in the House, New York’s 11th Congressional District is a must-win seat.

  1. Salazar had better learned from last time, and if she loses to Shalala (!) again, she’s DONE.

Seriously, losing to Shalala (!) in Miami is utterly cringeworthy.
