That Rep. Karen Bass was an organizer for the Venceremos Brigades has already been thoroughly documented. That the Venceremos Brigades were created and controlled by Cuba’s DGI (Intelligence service) has also been thoroughly documented. That the DGI came under the complete control of the KGB in 1970 has also been thoroughly documented. (See here and follow links for this thorough documentation using sworn testimony of high-ranking Cuban intelligence defectors during Congressional hearings.)
Well, it turns out that on top of her frequent trips to Cuba as a Venceremos Brigadista in the early 70’s, Karen Bass has continued traveling to Cuba, and quite quite frequently. At top of page we Bass in the company of a KGB-trained Cuban spy , Josefina Vidal, who was expelled from the U.S. in 2003, pursuant to the arrest of Cuban spy Ana Belen Montes and the most damaging penetration of the U.S. Dept; of Defense in recent history, and convicted of the same crimes as Ethel and Julius Rosenberg.
That Venceremos Brigadista Gail Reed married the DGI Venceremos Brigade handler Julian Torres Rizo is thoroughly documented by America’s top Cuba spycatcher (retired) Lt Col. Christopher Simmons of the Defense Intelligence Agency.
From Senate hearings titled: The Role of Cuba in International Terrorism and Subversion, Intelligence Activities of the DGI, Feb. 26, 1982, US Senate Subcommittee on Security and Terrorism , Feb. 26 , 1982?
“Sen. Denton: “(Julian Torres) Rizo was at the DGI (Cuba’s KGB-controlled intelligence service) Station chief in New York for 3 years, as I understand it.
“Gerardo Peraza (a high ranking DGI defector) “Yes. Rizo was also an active DGI agent in the Venceremos Brigade camps…..This was his first intelligence job. His first intelligence job was to recruit members of the Venceremos Brigade. He also had connections with many North Americans, preparing himself to come to the United States. And he continued directing the work of these agents in the United States.”
A declassified FBI report ( btw: this was WELL before people like Comey ran it) said the ultimate objective of the DGI (Cuban Intelligence’s) in setting up the Venceremos Brigades “is the recruitment of individuals who are politically oriented and who someday may obtain a position, elective or appointive, somewhere in the U.S. Government, which would provide the Cuban Government with access to political, economic and military intelligence.” (Much more here.)
Fascinatingly enough: Nowadays Julian Torres Rizo bills himself as a regime-appointed Havana tour guide. In other words, his job is to guide and indoctrinate (and perhaps try to recruit some of?) those American tourists on their “people-to-people” visits to totalitarian Cuba. Hummmm? He sure strikes me as well qualified for the job. Maybe you can’t argue with success?
Equally fascinating: among Rep. Karen Bass’ top tasks on Capitol Hill is legislating and lobbying for more U.S. tourism to Cuba.
“Bass Slams Latest Trump Policy In Cuba. October 28, 2019 Press Release WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations issued the following statement regarding the Trump administration’s decision to further limit the ability of U.S. citizens to travel to Cuba. “Suspending flights from the United States to all destinations outside of Havana is yet another cruel and counterproductive policy put forth by this administration.. Trump’s new policy will make it harder for Americans to do business with and travel to Cuba….
Hummmmm?…. Kinda dovetails nicely with the current goals of her (old?) DGI handler, doesn’t it…..?
Le RRRRONCA!!! (Everything above meticulously documented in these internationally-acclaimed books.)
