Despite deep plague crisis, Cuba sends 56 enslaved medical personnel to Guyana

Never let it be said that Castro, Inc. misses a chance to make a buck or two out of its slaves, no matter the cost to those still trapped in Castrogonia.

With plague raging, it still pulls medical personnel from the island and sends them somewhere else to work as slaves.

In the midst of the controversy that arose after the Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, blamed the doctors for the health crisis for Covid-19 on the island, the Government sent another group of 56 health professionals to Guyana, who arrived to that country on Monday, the local News Room published.

The team, which replaced another fired last week by local authorities, will work at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Lilieendaal, on the east coast of Demerara.

According to the cable television station, the new group is made up of general practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians and intensive care specialists, and will serve in Guyana for the next four years.

The local media added that the general director of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Vishwa Mahadeo, together with the Cuban Ambassador to Guyana, Narciso Reinaldo Socorro, welcomed the team at Cheddi Jagan International Airport.

Last Friday, the Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony, said when dismissing the predecessor Cuban brigade made up of 43 professionals that his government was grateful for the professional services provided.

He was also “pleased” that the group, which traditionally only comprises doctors, “has opened up to other categories of health professionals” and also celebrated that “hundreds of young people from Guyana were able to go to Cuba to receive medical training” in in recent years thanks to agreements between both governments.
