
Sundays have once again become a day of repression for Cuba’s Ladies in White. For the 5th Sunday in a row, the communist Castro dictatorship has arrested them for trying to attend church services. This is socialism in action.

Fifth Sunday of arrests and fines for the Ladies in White trying to attend church services
Berta Soler, the leader of the Ladies in White, and her husband, opposition leader and former political prisoner Angel Moya Acosta, were arrested in Havana on Sunday for trying to attend church services to pray for the release of political prisoners and for Cuba. In Matanzas, there was a total of 18 arrests.
The statement on what took place in Lawton, Havana: “At 11 AM we were arrested and in the case of Angel Moya, he was taken to the Cojimar police station and later released at 9:35 PM. In my case, I was taken to the El Cotorro police station and released at 9:45, but was fined 150 pesos for violations.”
This is the fifth Sunday the Ladies in White have recommenced their campaign in support of political prisoners. However, some of the organization’s activists were able to make it to church, according to Soler.
“As of now seven Ladies in White in Matanzas were able to participate in church services; here, in Havana, five Ladies in White have reported the same, and we have reports that one Lady in White in Guantanamo and three in Santa Clara were able to attend church” said Soler,
But other Ladies in White were arrested and fined during the day. “Here in Havana six Ladies in White were arrested; in Santiago de Cuba three Ladies in White were arrested; in Matanzas, 18 Ladies in White were arrested and among these three report receiving 150 pesos fines.”
